What Is The Nightclub Dress Code In Las Vegas?
So, what should I wear in Vegas? All Las Vegas nightclubs and lounges call for “upscale attire” which can seem ambiguous, but generally speaking you will want to wear well-fitting, clean and on-trend clothing. Below you’ll find all of the Dos and Don’ts of how to dress to impress for the legendary Las Vegas nightclubs, pool parties and lounges.
Please remember to dress for style AND at least some level of comfort as attending the majority of these nightclub & pool party venues involves a decent amount of walking through large hotel casinos, standing inside and/or outside the venue, dancing etc.
Vegas Nightclubs & Lounges
Wearing the right outfit to the club can be one of the determining factors of whether you’re allowed inside or whether you’re left high and dry outside at the ropes. Lounges will often have less strict dress codes, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. What Can’t I Bring Into A Las Vegas Pool Party or Nightclub?
Some important stuff here. Las Vegas casinos, nightclubs & pool parties are big operations and they have no time for shenanigans. All of these types of venues have mandatory security checks where they will search your bag & pockets. On occasion there will be metal detectors. If they find any prohibited items they will confiscate them. Sometimes they may hold onto them for you to claim later or sometimes they will simply dispose of them on the spot. It is their decision and each venue is slightly different. If they find any illegal items they will absolutely confiscate them and may even get additional security and/or police involved. So, we recommend you leave the drugs (yes, even weed), weapons & other questionable items at home or the hotel.
Prohibited Items
-
- Weapons
- Pepper Spray
- Drugs (including marijuana, prescription & over-the-counter)
- Flowers
- Outside food/drinks (including electrolyte powders etc.)
- Balloons (they block security cameras)
- Selfie Sticks
- Vaporizers & e-cigarettes
- Oversized bags or backpacks
- Purses/Bags larger than 12” x 12” x 6”
- Gum
- Inflatables, big signs, banners, posters etc.
- SLP professional cameras with interchangeable lenses
- Video cameras (including GoPro, Google Glass etc.)
- Personal computers/laptops/tablets
- Tweezers & Eye drops (Gray area. These are often not on prohibited items lists, but we have experienced them being confiscated before, particularly at pool parties)
Las Vegas Dress Code Q&A
Are Women Allowed to wear flat shoes in Las Vegas Nightclubs?
Absolutely. Of course just be sure your shoes of choice are clean, on-trend and follow the rules listed above based on the type of venue you’re attending.
Are T-Shirts Allowed in Vegas Nightclubs?
T-Shirts with offensive language or images are never allowed, but an on-trend, well-fitting t-shirt under a sport coat, for example, is totally ok. T-shirts can be a bit of a gray area, but it really comes down to how the rest of your outfit is styled. You’ll want to make sure the casual nature of a t-shirt is balanced out with more upscale shoes, slacks or trousers, and even a jacket or sports coat to be on the safe side. If you don’t know whether your t-shirt will make the cut, just go with a collared shirt.
Are Sneakers Allowed in Vegas Clubs?
This is also a bit of a gray area. Clean, smart streetwear sneakers are typically allowed, but you’ll want to make sure the rest of your outfit is elevated to balance out the casual nature of the shoe. Straight up athletic/workout sneakers typically are not allowed, including Jordans.
Are Hats Allowed in Las Vegas Nightclubs & Pool Parties?
Baseball caps and other athletic headwear are typically not allowed, however, certain street-style hats may be allowed. Some examples of case-by-case acceptable hats are: fedoras, berets, cowboy hats, “newsboy” hats etc.
On occasion you might see someone with a baseball cap on inside the club, but that isn’t the norm. Ultimately, it’s up to the venue door staff.
Are Jeans Allowed in Las Vegas Clubs & Pool Parties?
Nightclubs: Yes. Denim pants are allowed, but they should be clean, free from holes, on-trend and should not be overly baggy. Denim shorts aren’t allowed. Shorts in general aren’t allowed for guys. As always, it’s up to the venue door staff.
Daytime Pool Parties: Denim pants are not allowed at daytime pool parties, however, denim shorts are ok for ladies over a swimsuit. Jean shorts on guys typically aren’t allowed.
Nightswim: Yes, denim pants are allowed since nightswim events allow both nightclub and daytime pool party dress codes. Denim shorts can be allowed on a case-by-case basis for guys, but it’s not guaranteed.
Are Sunglasses Allowed in Vegas Pool Parties & Clubs?
Sunglasses are allowed into nightclubs, however, it’s probably best for everyone if you just leave them in the room. For real. Sunglasses are absolutely allowed & encouraged at Vegas pool parties.
What Should I Do if I’m Told My Outfit Doesn’t Meet the Dress Code Rules?
It’s important to remain calm and respectful. If you’d still like to go inside the venue, politely ask which outfit item(s) are causing the issue. Then, ask if you’d still be granted entry if you go change and return. Chances are they will say yes if it’s early enough. If it’s later and closer to the venue closing time there’s a good chance you wouldn’t have time to go change and come back.
Are Jordans allowed in Las Vegas Nightclubs?
All venues and events are different, but it’s safe to say you’d be better off assuming all Jordan branded shoes & apparel are not allowed.
Can I bring sunscreen into a Las Vegas pool party?
Yes, you may bring in sunscreen. Security might open it to make sure it’s actually sunscreen. Pool party venues will also have it available for purchase as well. Note: Some venues say they only allow spray sunscreen in an aerosol can. Again, every venue is different.
Do Vegas pool parties provide towels?
Yes, they do.
