Ranked by someone who works with every venue on this list. These are the clubs worth your night, and the ones worth skipping on the wrong evening.
These three venues consistently deliver for hip-hop and top 40 crowds. Each one is different. Pick based on your group's vibe, not just the name.
On The Record is our top pick and it's not really close. The venue is more intimate than most Las Vegas clubs, which is exactly what makes it work. Hidden bars behind secret walls, VIP Karaoke Rooms tucked behind bookshelves, three rooms covering hip-hop, top 40, and Latin throwbacks. You're not fighting a 4,000-person crowd to hear the music. Celebrities show up here after their own shows, not because it's marketed as a celebrity venue, but because it's genuinely a good room. The photo above says everything.
Tao has been one of Las Vegas's most recognized clubs for nearly two decades. Multi-level, large capacity, consistent hip-hop and top 40 programming. It draws a high-energy crowd and delivers on production. If your group wants a classic Las Vegas nightclub experience with a strong hip-hop rotation, Tao is reliable. It's a bigger room than On The Record, which suits groups that want the full Vegas spectacle rather than the intimate feel.
Hakkasan is one of the largest nightclubs in Las Vegas, with multiple rooms and serious production. Its main room runs EDM, but the hip-hop room is a full club in its own right. If your group is split between fans of both genres, Hakkasan solves that problem in one venue. It's also one of the few places in Vegas where the production budget is visible the moment you walk in.
Getting a group into any of these? The Nightclub on Wheels visits multiple clubs in one night with complimentary entry at every stop. Or tell us the specific event you want and we'll handle VIP entry or a table.
These two can outperform the top three on the right night. It depends entirely on who's performing.
LIV is primarily EDM, but when the right hip-hop headliner is in town it becomes the best hip-hop night in the city. Big production, massive sound system, full crowd energy. Check the headliner before you book.
Zouk is primarily an EDM and house venue, but T-Pain's residency brings a different crowd and a genuinely great hip-hop night. If T-Pain is on the calendar during your trip, it's worth considering.
Las Vegas pool parties are their own category. These three are the go-to options when you want hip-hop during the day.
Liquid is consistently the top pick for hip-hop pool parties in Las Vegas. It draws an A-list crowd, the music programming is focused, and the venue is well-run. If hip-hop during the day is the priority, start here.
Marquee is one of Vegas's best day clubs overall, and on hip-hop headliner dates it's at its best. Check the lineup before booking. On the right night, it's a top experience on the Strip.
Connected to Tao Nightclub, Tao Beach does hip-hop headliner events throughout the season. Tyga has performed here regularly. Like Marquee, it's headliner-dependent, so check who's playing before you commit.
A lot of people searching for Las Vegas nightclubs are still looking for venues that no longer exist. If you found this page looking for Chateau, Drais, or 10AK, here's what you need to know, and where to go instead.
Chateau
Chateau was one of the best hip-hop and top 40 venues Las Vegas ever had. Rooftop terrace overlooking the Eiffel Tower, multiple rooms, a crowd that came to actually dance. It closed and the space has not been replaced with anything comparable. On The Record at Park MGM is the closest thing to Chateau's vibe today.
Drais was the go-to hip-hop club on the Strip for years. It had some of the best headliner bookings in the city. The Cromwell's club space has since been redeveloped. Tao and On The Record now fill most of what Drais used to be.
Drais Beach was the rooftop pool party counterpart to the nightclub below. Hip-hop focused, consistently strong bookings, and one of the more unique pool party settings in Vegas with its rooftop location. It's gone. Liquid Pool Lounge at Aria is now the top pick for that same hip-hop pool party crowd.
10AK was a solid hip-hop and top 40 club inside The Mirage. It closed when the property transitioned to Hard Rock Las Vegas. Hakkasan at MGM Grand is the most direct replacement for the crowd that used to go to 10AK.
