The Foundation Room is gone. What replaced it is a Japanese-style listening lounge with 4,760 records on the walls, a full Asian-inspired kitchen, and the whole Strip laid out below the windows. Here is what your group should know before you go.
Vinyl Room opened on August 8, 2026 in the space that housed the Foundation Room for more than two decades. Live Nation runs it, and the reference point is not a Strip nightclub. It is a Japanese high-fidelity listening lounge, scaled up for Las Vegas.
There is no cavernous dance floor and no festival-grade light rig. What there is instead: 4,760 vintage albums on the walls, DJs playing actual records, a room built so the sound system is the centerpiece, and windows that put the Strip in front of you from 63 floors up.
It also does not behave like a club on the clock. Doors open at 3 PM every day. You can arrive in the afternoon for drinks, stay through a full dinner, and still be there when the DJ turns the room over later. Most groups underuse that.
Mandalay Bay sits at the south end, so the view runs north across the length of the Strip instead of into the back of the next tower. That is why the early set matters here.
The venue calls the decor a tribute to the artists who built Las Vegas entertainment, and the walls back that up. Framed album art, gold records, signed pieces and memorabilia run floor to ceiling. Your group will spend the first ten minutes just reading the walls.
33, 45 and 78. If you know records, you already know the joke. What matters for planning is which of them your group can actually get into.
Named for the 78 rpm record. One of the two lounges the venue opens to the general public, so this is where a walk-in or an OpenTable reservation lands you.
Named for the 45 rpm single. The second public lounge, and the other half of the room most groups will actually see.
Named for the 33 rpm LP. This one sits behind the Vinyl Room membership, not something a table reservation gets you into.
One of four spaces Vinyl Room lists for private buyouts, alongside the Upper Lounge Bar, Lower Lounge and Entrance Lounge.
Vinyl Room lists four spaces for private buyouts: the Upper Lounge Bar, Lower Terrace, Lower Lounge and Entrance Lounge. The venue markets those for brand activations, convention and corporate events, and cocktail receptions, with vinyl decks, private bars, flexible lounge seating and custom menus. If your group is in town for a convention, that is the door to ask about. We build convention and corporate nights around rooms like this, so send us your dates and we will handle the outreach.
Table pricing and minimums are set by Vinyl Room, not by us. Send us your date and group size and we will plan the night and connect you with the right people at the venue.
This is the recurring lineup on the venue calendar as of September 2026. Named nights rotate, so confirm the date before you build a night around one.
The early set, and the one that lines up with the view. That is the whole reason to be 63 floors up before dark.

Warm wood, brick, deep red banquettes and record art on every wall. It reads closer to a members club than a Strip nightclub, which is exactly the point.
This is the part most people miss. Vinyl Room runs a full Asian-inspired kitchen, so your group can eat properly and stay in the same room instead of booking a restaurant somewhere else and moving everyone twice. A shorter late night menu picks up after the main service.

Menu items and pricing are set by the venue and change, so check with Vinyl Room before you plan around a specific dish.
The list splits into Uptempo Grooves and Midnight Moods, and the names are all records: House of the Rising Sun, Superfly, Life on Mars, Golden Years, Smoke on the Water, Mt Joy. It is a small thing, and it is the kind of small thing your group will notice.

Serves up to 6. A sparkling punch built for the table, with vodka, lychee Calpico, dragon fruit, blood orange, yuzu and sparkling sake.
Nikka Coffey Malt Whisky, sweet vermouth and rich PX Sherry, poured from a Vinyl Room souvenir flask over a large ice cube. The flask goes home with you.
Nikka Yoichi whisky, wakoucha tea syrup and Fuji peach bitters, served over a branded ice cube.
A Haku Vodka and Junmai sake martini with a cucumber ribbon.
Tequila Lalo, mezcal, mango, lime, a touch of habanero and a cloud of smoke.
Nikaido Oita Mugi Shochu, honeydew melon, English cucumber, lime and a splash of soda. Can be made alcohol free.
Vinyl Room sits at the south end of the Strip and opens six hours before most nightlife rooms do. Both of those change how you should schedule around it.
Doors are at 3 PM daily, and the Sunset Sessions programming runs Wednesday through Sunday for a reason. The view is the asset here. A group that shows up at midnight paid the same and looked out a dark window.
The kitchen is real. If you were already planning a group dinner and a night out, doing both in one room saves you a transfer, a second reservation, and the twenty minutes it takes to get eleven people out of a restaurant.
Walk-ins are welcome, and the venue takes dinner and drinks reservations through OpenTable. The guest list opens for events starting at 9 PM or later. For a real group, book something rather than arriving and hoping.
Mandalay Bay is the far south end. It is a long walk from center Strip and a real rideshare from anything north of Bellagio. If Vinyl Room is your anchor, plan the rest of the night around it rather than treating it as a quick stop. Our Las Vegas club crawl guide covers how groups usually sequence a Strip night.
Vinyl Room has not published a dress code or an age policy. Rooms at this level in Las Vegas generally hold an upscale standard at the door, so dress up rather than down. Our Las Vegas nightclub dress code guide covers what actually gets turned away.
