What to Wear to a Las Vegas Nightclub in 2026

Every major Las Vegas nightclub follows the same standard. Omnia, XS, Hakkasan, Marquee, LIV, Zouk, Tao: the rules are consistent across all of them. Vegas clubs in 2026 are not suit-and-tie. Guys can walk in with clean pants, a clean shirt, and decent shoes. Women can wear a dress, a skirt, a cute top and shorts, whatever looks like a night out. The bar is simple: look like you're going out. Show up in athletic gear or looking like you just rolled out of bed, and you won't get in.

The short version: Clean pants and a clean shirt get most guys through the door. A dress or a nice top gets most women in. The only things that consistently get people turned away: Jordans, athletic wear, offensive graphics, and flip-flops. Everything else is up to the door. Dress like you're going somewhere upscale where everyone is dressed to the nines and you're fine.

What NOT to Wear to a Las Vegas Nightclub

  • Athletic wear or gym clothes
  • Men's shorts
  • Flip-flops or slides

  • Jerseys or team gear

Men's Las Vegas Nightclub Dress Code

You don't need a suit, and it's too hot in Vegas for a suit, a sport coat, or a sweater anyway. Any clean pants work, slacks or jeans, any color. Up top, wear any clean shirt that fits right: a polo, a long sleeve tee, a button-down, whatever you like. For shoes, clean sneakers, loafers, or a smart boot all get you in. Skip the gym shoes, the work boots, the shorts, and the sandals, and you're set.

Men's Las Vegas nightclub dress code, what usually works: button-down shirt, polo, well-fitting t-shirt, short-sleeve button-up, lightweight chinos, well-fitting jeans, clean tennis shoes, loafers, dress shoes Men's Las Vegas nightclub dress code, what to avoid: athletic shorts, sports jerseys, work boots, flip-flops or sandals, baseball caps, tracksuits and athletic wear, ripped baggy jeans, dirty sneakers, Jordan-style basketball shoes
Women's Las Vegas Nightclub Dress Code

A dress is the easiest call. A nice top with jeans or flowy pants works too. Heels, wedges, dressy flats, and dressy sandals are all fine. Flip-flops are not. These are casino venues so most people are somewhere between "nice dinner out" and "night out." You don't need to go over the top, but you should look like you're going out.

Women's Las Vegas nightclub dress code, what usually works: a dress, tank top or camisole, on-trend jeans, jumpsuit or catsuit, fitted top or tee, flowy pants, heels or dressy sandals, flats or loafers, clean sneakers Women's Las Vegas nightclub dress code, what to avoid: casual shorts, flip-flops, sports jerseys, baseball caps, athletic wear and leggings, baggy or ripped jeans, oversized tote bags, Jordan-style basketball shoes
Avoid Jordans and basketball-style sneakers.

Even clean or expensive athletic shoes can be rejected, and we have seen guests turned away in them. If you want the lowest-risk option, wear loafers, dress shoes, boots, or clean non-athletic fashion sneakers where permitted. Don't risk an entire night out on a pair of shoes.

Las Vegas Pool Party Dress Code 2026: What to Wear

Daytime pool parties are swimwear-forward, but dress codes are still enforced at the gate. The standard is much more relaxed than nightclubs, but it doesn't mean anything goes. Every major dayclub follows the same pool party dress code, so what works at one works at the next. For the full breakdown, including men's and women's outfits and every dayclub, see our Las Vegas pool party dress code guide.

Vegas Nightswims

Vegas does pool parties at night. Pool atmosphere without the blazing heat. This is the one people get wrong, and even the venues word it confusingly. There are two lanes and you have to commit to one: dress like you're going to a nightclub, or dress like you're going to a pool party. The middle is what gets you denied. Casual shorts and a t-shirt, or jean shorts, will not get you in.

Las Vegas Nightclub Dress Codes by Venue

Every major club on this list enforces the same baseline covered above. Where a venue runs both a nightclub and a dayclub, the code changes with the sun, not the brand. Here's the venue-by-venue rundown, with the details that actually matter at each door.

OMNIA Nightclub Dress Code

Caesars Palace · Nightclub

Standard nightclub code. Omnia has three rooms (the EDM Main Room, the hip-hop Heart Room, and the house-music Terrace), and one door standard covers all three. Full Omnia guide →

XS Nightclub Dress Code

Encore at Wynn · Nightclub

XS is closed for renovation, reopening November 5, 2026. When it reopens: standard nightclub code at night. XS is built around a pool, but that doesn't relax the door: on regular club nights, dress for the club. On nightswim nights, either club or pool attire works.

Hakkasan Nightclub Dress Code

MGM Grand · Nightclub

Standard nightclub code. Clean pants, any clean shirt, and non-athletic shoes get guys in. Full Hakkasan guide →

LIV Nightclub Dress Code

Fontainebleau · Nightclub

Standard nightclub code. LIV runs EDM most nights with hip-hop on big headliner nights, and the door standard is the same either way. Full LIV guide →

Marquee Nightclub Dress Code

The Cosmopolitan · Nightclub & Dayclub

Marquee Nightclub enforces the standard club code. Marquee Dayclub follows pool party rules. Same building, different doors, don't mix them up.

Zouk Nightclub Dress Code

Resorts World · Nightclub

Standard nightclub code. Newer venue, same rules: no athletic wear, no Jordans, no baseball caps, look like you're going out.

TAO Nightclub Dress Code

The Venetian · Nightclub

Standard nightclub code at Tao Nightclub. Tao Beach up on the roof runs daytime pool party rules.

On The Record Dress Code

Park MGM · Nightclub

Standard nightclub code. OTR is a favorite for celebrity after-parties, but the door standard is the same as everywhere else on this page. See our On The Record night →

Ghostbar Dress Code

Palms, 55th Floor · Rooftop Lounge

Standard nightclub code, lounge edition. Ghostbar opens at 9 PM and it's where our Nightclub on Wheels nights usually start. More on Ghostbar →

Dayclubs: Encore Beach Club, Tao Beach, Marquee Dayclub, LIV Beach

Daytime Pool Parties

All major dayclubs follow the pool party rules above: swimwear with a cover-up, sandals and baseball caps fine, no jeans, no work boots, no jerseys.

Meet the nightclub standard and you are in good shape at most of these doors, but the details vary by venue and the doorman always has final say. When in doubt, dress one notch nicer than you think you need to.

Why People Actually Get Turned Away

Meeting the dress code is most of it, but it is not all of it. After years of walking groups up to these doors, the denials I see almost never come down to one item on a list. Here is what actually stops people at the front of the line.

The Real Reasons Doors Say No
Jordans or anything that reads as athletic, even clean and new
An overall look that is too casual, not one single item
Visibly intoxicated. This gets you denied no matter how you are dressed
Arguing with security. The door has final say and attitude ends it fast
A bag over the size limit, or a prohibited item found at the checkpoint
A large group of guys with no table and no plan on a sold-out night

Dress the part, keep it together, and be easy to deal with at the door. That covers almost every denial before it happens. If you do get stopped, stay calm and ask which specific thing is the issue. Early in the night the answer is usually fixable. We wrote the full playbook here: what to do if you are denied entry to a Las Vegas club.

Cooler months, quick note: Vegas nights from December through February can drop into the 40s. You can absolutely wear a coat, every major club runs a coat check inside. Just do not let a puffer or an athletic jacket become your whole look at the door. Dress for the club underneath and check the coat once you are in.

Does Bottle Service Override the Las Vegas Nightclub Dress Code?

No. Bottle service can make for a smoother, faster entry, but it does not override a venue's dress-code rules. Management still has final say. Jordans, athletic wear, and offensive graphics can still get flagged whether you are spending on a table or not. The standard is the standard.

The real advantage is knowing what the venue wants that specific night before you leave the room. When you book the Nightclub on Wheels or a Ghostbar table, we connect you with a venue host who handles your complimentary entry and tells your group exactly how to dress for that room on that date. You show up ready, and the door is a formality. Restrictions apply for special events, major holiday weekends, and sold-out nights.

What Can You Bring Into a Las Vegas Nightclub?

Security confiscates more than you might expect, and the exact list varies by venue. These are the items commonly prohibited or restricted at the checkpoint:

Weapons of any kind
Pepper spray
Illegal drugs and marijuana
Flowers
Outside food or drinks
Electrolyte powders
Balloons (block cameras)
Selfie sticks
Vaporizers & e-cigarettes
Bags larger than 12″×12″×6″
Gum
Inflatables, banners, or signs
SLR or interchangeable-lens cameras
Video cameras or GoPro
Tablets or laptops
Tweezers or eye drops (gray area)

Medication policies vary by venue. If you need to carry prescription or over-the-counter medication, check the venue's current policy before you arrive.

Las Vegas Dress Code Q&A

Are Jordans allowed in Las Vegas nightclubs?
Avoid them. Jordans and basketball-style sneakers are the shoes most likely to get you turned away, even clean or new ones. For the lowest-risk option, wear loafers, dress shoes, boots, or clean non-athletic fashion sneakers where permitted.
Are women allowed to wear flat shoes in Las Vegas nightclubs?
Absolutely. Just make sure they're clean, on-trend, and upscale-looking. Heels are never required.
Are T-shirts allowed in Vegas nightclubs?
Yes. A clean, on-trend tee is fine at every major Vegas nightclub. The only restrictions: no offensive language or imagery, nothing dirty or visibly worn out. A clean tee with clean pants and decent shoes gets you in. Offensive prints get you turned away.
Are sneakers allowed in Vegas clubs?
Usually. Clean fashion sneakers are fine at most venues. Avoid Jordans and anything that looks like it belongs on a basketball court or a track. Designer streetwear sneakers are accepted at most clubs, where permitted, but the door always has final say.
Are hats allowed in Las Vegas nightclubs?
Baseball caps and athletic headwear are not allowed. Certain fashion hats may be accepted case-by-case: fedoras, berets, cowboy hats, and newsboy caps have all been allowed at various venues.
Are jeans allowed in Las Vegas clubs?
Nightclubs: Yes. Clean, hole-free, well-fitting denim is fine. Shorts are not allowed for men.

Pool parties: No jeans. Denim shorts are fine for ladies over a swimsuit.

Nightswim: Denim jeans are fine since nightswim accepts both dress codes. Denim shorts on men are case-by-case.
Are sunglasses allowed in Vegas clubs and pool parties?
Technically yes at nightclubs, but you'll look out of place. Leave them in the room. At pool parties, sunglasses are absolutely encouraged.
What should I do if my outfit doesn't meet the dress code?
Stay calm and respectful. Ask which specific item is the issue and whether you can come back after changing. Earlier in the evening, the answer is almost always yes.
Can I bring sunscreen into a Las Vegas pool party?
Yes. Security may open it to check. Some venues only allow spray sunscreen in aerosol cans. Sunscreen is also sold on-site at all major pool parties.
Do Vegas pool parties provide towels?
Yes, towels are provided at all major pool party venues.
Do all Las Vegas nightclubs have the same dress code?
They share a similar baseline: look like you're going out, no athletic wear, no Jordans, no flip-flops, no offensive graphics. OMNIA, XS, Hakkasan, Marquee, LIV, Zouk, and TAO all enforce that standard, but the details vary by venue and the doorman always has final say. Meet the baseline and dress one notch nicer than you think you need to.
Does Omnia have a dress code?
Yes. Omnia at Caesars Palace enforces the standard Las Vegas nightclub dress code: clean pants with any clean shirt for men, a dress or nice top for women. No athletic wear, no Jordans, no flip-flops, no baseball caps. See the Omnia section above.
